The Nike Tailwind has always been a special pair since 70s and then the Air bubble was introduced to the shoe in 92. Although the shoe has been a fan favourite it has never really been celebrated the same as others in the Air Max roster. Recently the Tailwind 4 dropped and surprisingly didn’t make the impact it deserved. It was pretty spot on other than the Air bags but the colours and shape were great. The next shoe in the line up was pthe Air Max Tailwind 5, which had a quilted style upper... and strangely the similar named, Air Max Tailwind 5+ in 2003/2004. The Tailwind line still exists but went downhill drastically after this pair. Featuring Tuned Air and Air Max in the heel and forefoot, toe support as seen similarly on the 4, the TPU “webbing” for support on the forefoot while running. These and the 96 Tailwinds are two of the best Air Max’s ever, not just in the Tailwind line up.
